SIL is assigned to each single independent safety function that is intended to be achieved by one or more Safety Instrumented Systems (SIL). The security integrity level (SIL) is the probability value that a control system performs properly an instrumental security function within a predetermined period of time. SIL is Quantitative measure of probability that a protective function will not be performed in case of needs, allowing the designer to reduce the risk of a dangerous situation and quantify its reduction.SIL is a level of security integrity required for the security function, where 1 is the lowest integrity level and 4 the highest integrity level.
All valves manufactured by OMC have achieved SIL 3 classification , certified by TÜV SUD, which is the maximum obtainable for this type of product.
